No they are supposed to be waterproofed. That is why they are a Off Road or Dirt Road Caravans. Built with a specialised Chassis to take the punishment. .
I get the impression US RV’s only run on paved roads. Asking the impossible if you want too explore Australia. Yes the bulk of the population lives on the Coast, but exploring the Northern Territory, South Australia and Queensland an impossibility if you want go too remote areas
