Reason is Australians go Off Road a lot. So a smaller very agile SUV is better
Large SUV’s like the large Chevy SUV’s(Suburban) would and have been a total failure, it cannot go Off Road but Landcruisers do. As a result they are pretty popular.
Equally your Silverado would be having a difficult time Off Road, so they are rarely seen.
Travel Trailers are also taken Off Road, so need to be shortish 25-30ft overall. Australia is much more urbanised, surprisingly than the US or Canada, few people live in the Outback or Rural areas
As a result US RV’s as well as Pickups are rarely seen . That is a pretty basic explanation, which distorts other reasons for the absence of US vehicles , many more factors are involved

I wonder about the same thing concerning any pickup with the rear axle so far forward in the bed. Any weight centered in the bed will transfer weight off the front axle. We would have to see rear axle ratings and empty weights to know for sure, but I'm fairly sure that 2400 pounds needs to be split between the cab and bed to avoid overloading the rear axle.

Not really comparable. Full-size Pickups were sold in Australia that included F150-F350., Last ones Diesel HD F250-F350 were sold in Showrooms in 2007.
Demand was very low ,too low to make it viable for Ford in that instance. You now have boutique convertors doing small numbers at fairly high prices
US HD Pickups fall in between the cracks here and in Europe. Asia I guess as well.
Europe and Asia do not require large TV’s to tow what towable RV’s exist.
On the other hand US HD Pickups are too small for Industrial and Farm work in Australia, Europe and a lot of Asia
Their sweet spot is towing moderately large RV’s
Directly answer your question.Yes Midzize are vastly more important than full size here.
Full sizers are as rare as Mahindra Pickups in the US

Just wondering because in the US of course large HD trucks are common, although I see the mid sized market making a comeback though. No that 2400lbs for Trayback version. Should not be a problem as others have a Dualcab capacity of roughly 2200lb
