I put two sets on a sw 88 9200 gvwr K3500. 4 of 8 tires blew or tread seperated before 50K between them! My dump gets about 40k per rear set, no matter the brand. It has a detroit no-spin/locker in the rear. I have followed it around a corner, inner rear goes the same speed as outer! Leaving 2 bits of rubber every corner.
I've had over 500K miles with Coopers of different shape and forms on landscape trucks, spouses rigs and 5 trailers including an RV trailer. NO blow ups. Better traction from AT and traction tires than Michelin offers, EXCEPT for the XDE M+S on dumptruck.
As far as nails go. I had over a dozen in one day on bobcat tires, 4 on rig, spare on and off. Plugged tires, then at had to make a trip to dealer to air up! Truck tires usually had at least 3-6 nails screws etc before wearing out. Then again, working in new construction sites....never know what you will find! I usually get 10-20% less miles than what one would expect due to constant loads etc on trucks. Most miles are city local to a HWY 99 style with max speed of 50 or so. Stop and go. This is harder on tires than one that goes on an interstate style most of the time. As an example, when I sold the 05 duramax, only truck I have had with an hr meter, I was around 25 mph! some on here have quoted 40-45 mph ave per hour.
Some tires are better for MY style of driving, others for YOUR style of driving.
