Microwave buttons

2012Coleman, My friend and I both have the same High Pointe microwave in our campers that you have. Both of our microwaves are acting just like yours. Our campers are on seasonal sites. September 15 before I left our site I unplugged the microwave from its outlet. Friday, September 19 I plugged the microwave back in. It worked like it should ALL weekend! My friend and my trailers are 2014 units bought in summer of 2013. I believe the symptoms your, my friend and my microwave are having is a manufacture defect. I am having a hard time convincing the owner of the dealership where I bought my trailer that it is a manufacture's defect.

It will keep beeping until you either take the food out or at least open and then shut the door.

And if you use the express cooking buttons (usually 1 through 6) you can stop it whenever you want just by hitting stop or opening the door. Then hit start again if you need more time.

My microwave in the TT is only about 900 watts and the one in the house is 1100; so sometime you have to adjust the cooking times depending on the wattage of the microwave. Longer if its a low wattage and maybe a little less if it is a high wattage. Just need to get used to it. And read the book that comes with it.

Open the door? Just a guess.

Not to hijack but anyone know how to turn off that darn BEEPING when times up ..

Just went out and looked at mine. it is exactly the same and it does have Express cook for 1,2,3,4,5,6 minutes. you should be able to just push one of those numbers and it will run for the labeled amount of time at high power. you all can fire up an empty one but I won't on mine.

We have the same MW. They work differently than the typical household type. You need to press the time button first, then enter the time, then the start button. Nothing will happen if you don't and it will seem as if it is broken. I think the other functions are the same deal, but I'd have to go out and look at ours.

In a household type, all you do is enter the time first, then hit the start button. Not sure why they don't make RV ones the same.

I found I had to stop and consciously remember what to do first before I tried to get it to run. A couple of seasons later with this MW, I'm finally getting it right the first time, lol...

If still having difficulty, not that anyone should have to (I haven't), but you *could* always read the manual. Then, if even that doesn't help, there must be something faulty.

You should never run a micro empty.

Used to be true. The newer models no longer have that problem.

We have this microwave in our camper. Try pushing Timed Cook first, followed by the amount of time you want it to cook, then Start. This will cook the food on high.

If you want a power setting less than high, push Timed Cook first, followed by the amount of time you want. Then push Power, followed by the power number you want, then Start.

Hope this helps. I will say that this microwave is much weaker than the one we have at home, so you'll have to experiment with the settings to get something to cook the way you're used to.
