We did a delete on our 2012 Ram 2500 this spring, and have the H&S Mini Maxx tuner. We are having an issue with the screen staying black when we start the truck. It's not all the time, though. Maybe 1 time in 10-15 starts. We've had the connections checked, and had a new Mini Maxx installed but it still does it. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has found a fix. I'm wondering if it's a software glitch? I searched online but only found people complaining about a permanent black screen.

My Bully Dog GT does the same thing from time to time. It seems to be heat related. Mine is mounted on the dash in the sun so when the truck is outside is when it does it. If possible try unplugging it and putting it away when it's hot and sunny.

Interesting. I'll have to pay attention to the temperature. I'm pretty sure it's done it when it's cooler, but we'll see. I have it back at the shop again for them to try and figure it out.

Thanks for the comment. If we keep having issues we talked about switching to something different but don't know what's better. Have you heard of blown head gaskets on the 6.7 cummins?

Yes, especially with tuners like the H&S or Smarty. If you are running aggressive timing with high boost and you don't have head studs, then a head gasket replacement will be in your future. Off topic, but I am not a big fan of H&S Mini Maxx. Left many any of friends, family, and customers with blown head gaskets if the boost and injection timing is too aggressive and you don't have head studs installed. The other minus is that it doesn't tune the trans to handle the added power reliably like EFI Live, EZLynk, or MM3 does.
