Yeah, I've checked out the Flex twice...once in 2009 and once this year at a car show.
While I respect the power of the engine and like the idea of a station wagon, I just could not get past the never-ending monotonous acres of square hard grayish cheap plastic (of the most bottom-of-the-barrel quality) making up 90% of the interior. Not a rounded corner to be found, not a soft touch to be felt. The interior reminded me of an 80's Toyota.
Then I looked at the price.
What was laughable in 2009 was downright offensive in 2017.
Too bad they didn't update that hideous outdated plastic interior and get rid of those Chrysler Sebring type lines down the sides...the Flex could have been a serious contender.
I'm always flat-out amazed they still make it every time I stumble across one at a car show. It's not quite as surprising as seeing a Navigator, however, which looks like it climbed out of 1999 complete with the RCA A/V jacks on the dash. Talk about being out-of-touch with the times.
