We pulled a ~2500# popup, no brakes, with bikes, canoe and 2 kids all over N.A. with a minivan: 1997 Pontiac Transport V6 with 4spd tranny.
As it was a popup, we didn't need any anti-sway, and since the van had self adjusting rear shocks we never used a WDH. Handled well.
Only issue was a steep, high elevation climb in Colorado. Slow speed, and the tranny was hunting bad. Afterwards I had it flushed as the fluid was dark. But never had to rebuild it.
Much later, at ~150K miles and 9 years, it was driven to a junkyard and sold for C$600. By then the biggest problem was rust as it was a daily driver in Ontario.
