Minnie Winnie Towables

Sooo....Winnebago is now manufacturing travel trailers and I believe that the 2014 models will be their second year of production. We're getting ready to take a serious look at a Minnie Winnie 2201DS unit. If you have had a chance to look at any of the Minnie Winnie trailers, can you share your observations and thoughts???? I've been around trailers for quite a few years, so I know quite a bit about what to look for, but a little help is always appreciated. From what I've seen of pics and videos, I really like the floorplan, specs, etc. but hope that the quality control is at least a little bit above average.

Thanks so much for anything you can contribute!
  • Can't speak about the Minnie, but we considered buying the Winnebago Ultralight 27RBDS before we bought our Rockwood. They seem to be pretty nice trailers and don't feel as cheap as some others.
  • We will pickup our upsized Minnie 2101 FBS on Wednesday of next week. For the past 2 years we have been in a 17 ft Casita after a 29 ft Dutchman Denali so we are looking forward to much more room trailer wise as well as tank wise in the almost 22 ft of the Minnie. We thought smaller was better but we went to small. The Minnie seem well built and to us much larger but still very easy to tow.
  • I'll agree that the small tanks aren't great. Most of the time, we look for full hookups, so it isn't an issue. When we're in state parks without sewer hook-ups and using the blue tote, it shouldn't matter that much as I only like to haul 15-20 gallons of gray water at a time. It really boils down to what compromises you want to make when you want to downsize to around 26' and 7K of weight or less. We've done a lot of looking, and at this point, figure that if a smaller unit ends up being wrong for us, we'll just have to trade it and go back to something in the 28-30 foot range.
  • Looking over some of the specs and the small holding tank sizes would be a deal killer for me but that seems to be the way the TT makers are going now.
  • Only thing I know about them are they seem to come in some wild colors! My wife really liked the bright yellow (I MEAN YELLOW YELLOW) model. I haven't been in one personally but have seem them close up. I think they are a brainchld of the Sunnybrook / Winnebago purchase.
  • Looked at that unit with the DW on Saturday. I liked it, she didn't like the raised slide, 2 steps instead of 3, and the massive wasted space in the bathroom. The outdoor Kitchen is super nice. If it had a floor flush slide we would seriously consider it.
