Funny how the typical GM loudmouth is no where to be found in this thread. Wonder why?
Maybe sick, and tired of the juvenile taunts by the RV.net membership? - lbrjetExplorerAbout GM ...... I was taught if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.
- hone_eagleExplorerTo be fair ,trucks sales alone did not drag GM down this month (and it is only one month) ,cruse sales tanked.
Trucks are on the other hand only a month in the market ,'13s were over produced then dumped ,'14s are proly very heavily only a few models (and expensive)which will lower sales.
Give them a few months . - wintersunExplorer II

Maybe they do not have their egos tied to the sales of cars and trucks in a month by the company that manufactured the last car or truck they bought. They must be very silly people not to be terribly bothered by this report. - ib516Explorer IIFunny how the typical GM loudmouth is no where to be found in this thread. Wonder why?
- hone_eagleExplorerYa the comments are always the most fun ,and more then a kernal of truth here and there.

2:1 huh? I guess you're not counting GMC as being made by GM?
Nope, GM doesn't count it, the auto rags don't count it, it's separate. And yes my back of the head math was off - needed the calculator for this one...
F-series 559,506
Chevy 350,775
Ram 262,787
Chevy: 350,775/559,506 = .626 or 62.6% of Ford's sales
Ram: 262,787/559,506 = .469 or 46.9% of Ford's sales
And just for S&G:
Chevy + GMC (135,670) = 486,445
486,445/559,506 = .869 or 86.9% of Ford's sales
Again your math skill are showing. My little equation of 1,308,738 trucks sold by the BIG three only show Ford with 42.7% market share, GM twins with 37.1% and Ram 20%. There is no doubt Ford is #1 in sales of ALL pickups, GM combined is number 2, and of course Ram is last. Been the same way for many years now. Whats interesting is the change in sales figures the last few years. Ram's percentage back 13 years ago was like 5%. Clearly someone is losing market share and I'm certain it's not Honda.
These figures also include the 15 series trucks. If you take them out of the equation as true tow vehicles, you get a entirely different story as far as percentages. Lots of F150 running around as grocery getters and lots of GM 2500's. Get to the real meat in towing the 35 series diesel trucks will be almost dead even in numbers. I mean can you compare a Ridgeline to a F450? and include them in the same group?
Rick,
It very well could be Honda. Back up a few years ago when fuel prices were sky rocketing, a lot of people panicked and sold their full size trucks and purchased fuel efficient cars. I'm seeing that trend reversing back to full size trucks again.- 45RicochetExplorer
