Jeff,
Just so you know a F350 bed well fit on a 550 but it needs to have a 4" spacer behind the cab or shorten the frame. My F550 had a wheel base of 176" and the F350 had 172". I had a 2006 F550 CC 4X4 that I custom ordered which I had Manning install a F350 bed on it. When I ordered the truck when it came off the assembly line it went to Manning right across the street from the Ford plant. Manning did their thing to it and then it went into the Ford shipping stream and was delivered to my dealer.
Also one thing when people talk about turning the truck the 450/550 CC has what Ford calls their wide front. This allows you to turn much sharper than a 350. I was amazed at how sharp it turned for a bigger truck. I have owned F350 duallies also plus a 1999 F450 that I had built with a custome flat bed but I was pulling my 5th wheel at that time.
