Earlier this year I took a quick look at what it would take to add one to our oven. It would be pretty easy from a mechanical installation point, but the problem would be the long length of wire exposed inside the oven. The insulation would have to take at least 500 degrees F. I am betting the gas grill ignitors have PVC insulation which would not hold up. Teflon insulation (used in mil spec wiring)might be OK or some other type of high-temperature insulated wire (used in electric range units). I'm not sure if you could replace the existing wire on the igniter easily or if they sell one with high-temp insulation. I have a spare igniter laying around somewhere and a bunch of teflon insulation so I am going to take a look.
