It is sad to me where these trucks are going. They put so much extra creature comforts in them now that I would be afraid to use it for any real work. SOme of that stuff would be really expensive to fix. My wife has a SUV with the touch screen display and we bought the extra electronics warranty because I don't want to have to write a check if that thing goes bad.
I love my 06 CTD, 225K miles and going strong. Had it since 08 and so far only a fuel pump. The new ones are nice but to pay that much for a personal vehicle baffles me.
Our Honda has all the unnecessary stuff on it, like lane keeping assist, lane departure, navigation, adaptive cruise control, back up and side view cameras, rain sensing windshield wipers, turbo charged direct injection engine, etc. I found it kind of amusing how the salesman pushes Honda quality and as soon as the deal is done the next guy pushes, pushes, and continues to push all sorts of extended warranty coverage packages and undercoating and leather protectant and glass coverage and free remote replacement. I opted for none of it and was told nobody buys the touring model without buying an extended warranty package. The car has got 3 years bumper to bumper which should cover anything that was faulty off the line and I sure expect the car to go trouble free for the following 4 years.
