Our style of camping is to drive several miles on old mining roads or secondary forest roads. Many times we will be in 4x4 low range for up to an hour to get to a nice spot to stay several days.
Very seldom do we ever see another camper other than a tent, or a passing atv rider that looks very surprised to see us camped so far back on very bad roads.
But once we get there we want all of the comforts of home to really relax and enjoy each others company and peace and quiet.
On my last trip to Colorado I went down a very rough "road" to camp near an isolated lake I wanted to fish. Where I pulled off the maintained road was a small group camped with ATVs and I got a lot of strange looks as I crawled back the trail. Not long after I reached a site to camp those ATVs came driving past. I still can't help but wonder if they were checking to see if I needed a tow.
