We purchased a 2015 Jayco. In the bedroom there is marking on the wall to place a TV. However the bracket i saw at Best Buy would not mount properly as the screws are too long and would puncture the outside wall if inserted all the way into the wall.Any suggestions? Jayco gave me the names of their supplier and I reached out to them, but in case that does not work, looking for suggestions from this group.ThanksMike

Smaller screws *may be* the answer here, but also be aware that there are weight considerations in play, and those calculations take into account the screws that are holding the mounting bracket into the wall. Smaller screws can translate to less holding power.

The answer is to go to the hardware store and get the thickest diameter lag bolt that can fit through the hole in the mounting bracket - take it with you. Pick a length that wont go through the wall.That is how I mounted mine.

Use smaller screws, but get a mount where you can easily lift off the television when traveling and simply hang it back up again when setting up camp. That's what we do and never had a problem.

You need to know what is in the wall. Some Fiberglas sided trailers use thin sheetmetal just behind the interior paneling and sheetmetal screws need to be used. If you have that type, the lag screws shown above will be destructive and worthless.

I assume you are mounting a TV around 23-25" in size. No need to ad any extra blocking to mount in the area Jayco suggests.

There's blocking behind the wall where it's marked. If using lag screws make sure you drill the right size pilot hole.

The LED TV's now are so light weight isn't a problem.

In my Jayco 23RLSW I was limited in width for the bedroom TV because of a door way on each side of the TV.

I had to limit it to a 19". Think it only weighs 5 lbs. Stays in place when traveling with no issues.

If you buy a articulating mount, make sure it locks in place for travel.
