Anyone downgrade to a gasser after running diesel for years regret it? Keeping my Dodge, but may look at a smaller trailer (less than 6,000), only pulling a few months a year, and commuting about 20,000 each year; not to save cash, as vehicle cost far outweighs whatever fuel I may burn in the Ram, but for comfort and ease of driving. I like my Dodge but, honestly, it's a bear to live with everyday and tow (noisy, rougher ride, hard to park, $150+ fillups), and a half ton would be much more to my liking (addresses all the negatives, plus less/cheaper maintenance, cheaper wear items such as tires, etc). The only downside is longevity; the Cummins will outlast the truck, and very few gassers last over 500,000 before calling it quits; not sure I'll ever get close to that, but you never know.
I think you wanted to say upgrade not downgrade.
Supercharged..... I actually agree with you... Especially for those with weights under 10-12k.
There comes a point where Diesel is really the only option like around 12k plus on a fiver. (There are always exceptions)
I do hunting and most diesels really can clear the woods. Then again so can does a gasser with really loud mufflers.
I understand people getting emotional about their trucks and preferred fuel system and brands but at the end if the day all trucks, all fuel systems, are just tools we hire to do a job. Trucks do not have emotions, they just do what they are asked to do. When they can't. They break and fail etc. Then they are repaired or replaced.
thanks!
