Nothing wrong with moving diesel to gas or gas back to diesel,what ever works for you and your wallet. I like both and have towed with both, and choose to stay with gas. Each have there advantages and disadvantages, I dont see much overall benifit in owning a diesel for me personally at this time. Despite what is said of longevity, the truck will generaly nickel and dime you to death before the engine needs repairs, hence its traded in or sold. So a gas job is fine, hey with better gearing and more TQ with HP the newer style (including mine) gas jobs are really doing a great job overall. That being said I am happy about mine pulling 10K the other day, I have no complaints.
