Moving on up..

Yes were moving on up. Up to a bigger truck that is, have a F800 to pull our 2012 Heartland LandMark Key Largo with.Now it will take some work to get it in the shape I want it to be in. But for way less then a new or newer 3500. We will have way more truck then needed. Plus extra room and a bed in the truck. 120 gallons fuel and 125 gallon tank for pumping water out of the cmaper into. Thus no blue tank to drag around to dump in campgrounds without f:oull hookup's. Plus will have a dump valve on this tank where its easy to dump it also.
Truck has a 7.8 Diesel motor 10 Speed Road Ranger Trans, 60" Stand up Sleeper along with a 9ft Hauler bed on it. Running on 24.5 Alco wheels and tires. So tires should dry rot before being out of thread.

Plans are to paint it to match the camper but that will be next year.
Will be taking the big Fuel tank off the back when I have help here. Can use my loader and forks on the Kubota tractor to set it off. But still need help.

    I wish I could see the pics!

    Always been a fan of medium duties converted for RV use; I'm surprised we don't see more of them, as in many cases they can be purchased &/or built for less than a (much less capable) 1-ton DRW diesel pickup.

    Yes its going to be over weight, Only rated for 33,000 lbs and with only 24.5 wheels and tires I fear they may be over weight.

    Also this one was built like this new. Ordered as a cab only then everything added 1987. Its not fast by no means but will pull the wheels off the camper at 55 MPH LOL Tops out about 68 Thinking the TRans will come out this fall and add OD or swap out the rear gears. Drop the RPM's some and still keep the pulling power. But have a few high gears for flat ground and better MPG.

    Figuring we will have less then $20,000. in this one when done. And that is with a paint job to match the camper. Thinking paint it the main color of the camper.

    That is the sad part. 11 MPG Thats Better then my crew cab drurmax. But this one has nothing on it from the EPA. PLus Straight pipe's 4" From the Turbo back to the Y pipe. Then into 6" Stacks, but will be adding a muffler soon. Not putting up with the exhaust drone so muffler will be added.
