Happy to report that we love our new 2604 even more than when we picked it up. Discovered several storage areas we didn't know existed from the photos and the features listed. There is a huge drawer under the sofa bed, another about 1/3 size area under the queen bed + 3 drawers, lots of little nooks and crannies. There are 2 panels that were secured under the entertainment center and the man who did our PDI said it was wiring, plumbing, etc.....well, DH just cannot stand not knowing what's behind that locked door, so he unscrewed the hinges. BINGO! Yes, there is a small amount of wiring for the TV, etc on the left side, but a huge amount of space on the right side. The door is probably about 15 - 18" wide and maybe 24" or so high. Only about 4" deep, but plenty enough to come up with a great storage area for DVDs, CDs and whatever else. The inside of the area is not stained/finished wood, but doubt that we really care. Next trip to Lowe's includes getting the appropriate latches and knob.
The one very minor downside is that there is not an outlet in the dinette area. We had one on the front base of one of the seats in the ROO and used it to plug in the laptop if needed. However, in the 2604 the dinette is right next to the entertainment center which does have a plug. Not a perfect place, but plenty usable. There is no power to any part of the slide, but really no place to put one other than under the dinette. No problem for us.
Many times we thought "one more basketful and we'll be done moving stuff".....wrong. DS#1 has a mountain of goodies to drop at Goodwill this morning. Where did all that stuff come from????? The ROO should have been on a diet way before this.
Our planned trip to Memphis to meet our DFs was cancelled due to the dreadful OK weather moving closer to us. Didn't think it was prudent to be sitting in a trailer in Memphis with more severe weather nearby. DH suggested maybe we just make a quick trip on Friday to our fav CG....just realized it's Memorial Day weekend. Well, fine!....we'll just work around the house like every holiday weekend and make our first trip out in a couple of weeks.
Foxy is still deciding whether she likes "Rocky" or not....no bunkend to hop onto and see what's going on, but she did find that she can see out the rear window from the swivel rocker. Too bad that's not gonna happen. She'll have to get over it.
So far, we love the darkside.
