It's definitely not make or break for the average joe that only drives 15k a year. Should only really be a large deciding factor for your hot shotters etc that put on a ton of miles per year. Pretty big expense factor for those guys, just a nice thing to know for your average joe. It is nice getting 20+ mpg on the highway though in the Ram!
Back when every pick up got 10 mpg or less I never would think that I'd be getting 22 or 23 in my CTD CC 1 ton cruising at 60 mph. A one ton was sort of an odd specialty truck with very expensive parts. I need to recheck mine this summer when empty now that it has 45,000 miles on it. When I was 10 yr old walking on the beach listening to my pocket size Japanese radio I didn't think that 50 years later I'd have a computer in my pocket that's 1/3 the size and can tell me just about anything I want to know in the whole world. Incredible times we live in, at least to an old guy anyway.
