- ACZLExplorerBottom line--when it's empty, I fill it up. I like that one!
Not to hijack here, but it's probly a good bet that today's diesels will ave 10-13 city/winter, 13-17 hiway/winter, 13-17 city/summer, 15-low/mid 20's hiway/summer, 10-13 towing. - Bionic_ManExplorerThere are a number of posters on this site that have a vendetta against Chrysler for one reason or another. You already found one of those in your first response.
2500 trucks to do not test (or at least they don't publish tests) for MPG, so you won't find anything from the EPA on any of the brands. The test that was linked is probably about as good as you will find, although it has it's limitations (was driven at 65 MPH, which no one in my area drives).
My personal opinion is that there are a lot of reasons to buy one brand over another. MPG really isn't a defining factor in the HD diesels. - I_m_Rick_JamesExplorer

All tests and independent comparison test results stated in black and white repeatedly that the Cummins 6.7 is the thirstiest of the 3 pickup truck diesels by far. A good reason why the MPGs are not given/written much for the buying public to see. - campiglooExplorerMy 2012 4 X 4 runs about the same as mcpib1 does except for unloaded hwy, around 18. 72,000 miles.
- e-lightExplorerCheck out the FLT review of a 2500 4x2, averages 24 highway @ 70mph. Hardly the thirstiest of the big boys...
- Wildwilly101ExplorerMy new 2014 leftover 3500 dually, HO with Aisin transmission has only 500+ miles on it. So far I've averaged 16 mpg mixed driving. My 08 that I traded in with over 100K miles only got 16mpg on a good day, and an average of 10 towing. I haven't towed with the new one yet, so I'll see how that goes. Bottom line is when it's empty, I fill it up.

2015 Ram 3500 Dually – Extra Heavy Duty Ike Gauntlet - micpib1ExplorerI have a 2013 Ram 2500 4X4, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited Edition, Cummins & Auto Transmission, triple black and I love my truck. Highway running empty 20-21 and I set my Cruise Control around 77-78 MPH. My last trip to Quartzsite, pulling my 10,000# trailer holding my speed around 60-62 I averaged 10.5 on the trip. Running empty in the mountains where I live (very steep grades) and around town 16-17 MPG fairly consistent. JH

You would of course corroborate this opinion with specifics? CURRENT specifics?
