2004 Dodge 5.9 Cummins DRW 3.73 gears 6 speed manual Edge controller, 1996 Bigfoot 2500. Hand calculated 16-17 hauling the Bigfoot, 18-19 without.
I also have a Ford with the V10 and have but one thing to add to the gas vs diesel debate. Every good grade the gas engine comes to, the tranny has to shift down and the engine is roaring, racing away at 3500-4000 rpm and I can watch the fuel gauge dropping (best ever mileage - about 12). The Cummins goes over that same grade without realizing it is there. No need to shift down, no fuss, no noise, no drama. Guess which one I prefer to drive?
