My 2005 and 2003 diesels like bio better due to the lubricity and consistently showed 10 percent better mileage when running B20. B10 also had a positive effect, but was less measurable. Both made the engines run quieted than lower cetane fuel currently offered even when I added a friction modifier to the tank full.
My 2015 diesel is not showing any significant difference in mileage between straight, B10 or B20 and engine noise is the same between all of them.
I haven't done any brand comparisons and I don't keep long term records (just what FIFO's in my head).
running B20 in my 2004 duramax truck noticeably reduced the clatter under load, especially after a cold start. It would go from pretty noticeable to almost non existent.
On my 2015, I can't hear or notice any difference.
Never have seen a difference in fuel mileage though.
