We had some snow just a few days ago. With overnight temps below freezing, I haven't de-winterized yet.
Anyway, about the chemicals, many old campgrounds in the east have sewer inlets that will not allow a good connection. Some are just a hole with your hose held in place with a rock. When someone dumps, everyone gets to know what the dumper had for dinner yesterday. If one always has perfect conditions, then there may be no need for chemicals. Out of respect for other campers, I will continue to use them and I wish others would do the same.
