Its a rubber part, it will eventually dry out and fail. If you got 12 years, I think that pretty good. If you replace it with the OEM replacement, and get another 12, they will probably outlive the rest of the truck.
Maybe I stated it wrong, but i"m trying to make the point: I'm gonna have a new truck after all this. With a little heads up to other Ford owners about an immanent problem to look out for. More like an FYI.
The Super Duty body mounts have been a known problem. Some have to replace them early and some last the life of the truck.
