My son just had his '02 Dmax water pump changed at 198k however the cost was 800 bucks which included a pump/fluids/labor and a new thermostat.
His diesel mechanic just changed all 8 injectors but declined the water pump job and referred to another area diesel shop who has changed several Dmax water pumps before. My son has built a couple of 327/350 engines when he drag raced a chevy II in the early '80s so he has very good mechanical abilities but backed out of this one.
My '03 Cummins has just over 230k miles on the clock and the OEM pump. Funny thing as it leaked a small bit for the first 3-4 tanks of fuel then it suddenly stopped leaking. Its still dry as a bone in a 7 year drought.
