Nope your comments have nothing to do with my engine choice but apparently discussing my back ground and experience was to "verbose" for you too. But other also understood my reasoning for such "verbose" it went toward explaining where my options came from. I did not explain why gas was better for me, I left that out. I simply tried to pass along why I believe the 6.4 is as capable as it is rated for and a viable option for someone that does not believe diesel is the best choice for them. But as usual, all these forums are, are a place for trolls, to do there best to start arguments, or try to once up the next guy. There is more misinformation passed along most of the time, and threads that become a "my dog is tougher than your dog" competition. There are many reasons gas is better for me, and why I believe it to be. But I have never once intended to nor felt I needed to explain that. All I have attempted to do is explain my experiences. But that was to "verbose" for you. And further more the diesel folks have no business disagreeing with my conclusions because they don't own the dam truck. So until they do they really don't have the experience to comment.
Help me understand. In the tenth paragraph in your original post you apologized for being so long. Even you knew you were long winded and verbose. And, I agree with you, you were long winded getting to any conclusion. How can you conclude that people that agree with you are trying to 'one up' or upstage you? They are agreeing with you!!!!
I have never said anything bad about the 6.4 as I think it is an excellent gas engine for those, like you, that want one. I do think the cylinder deactivation is sort of useless when towing as the engine would typically be working hard enough to not use that feature. And with that engine the 4.10 ratio would most likely be better for cylinder deactivation as the engine sort of works less hard with 4.10's. Not towing, the cylinder deactivation probably saves a mile or two per gallon.
