- BleugoatExplorerGreat trip report.
I always enjoy your reports of TC based family trips. And I certainly don't mind clicking on a link to your blog to see them.
Keep up the good work.
Bill - NCWriterExplorertc life, enjoyed your blog post. Looks like a fun family trip, and what's more fun than dogs on parade? Canines are good people.
Good tip about that tour. Thanks! - Camper_Jeff___KNomad III

My response was to your question:
Do I understand that correctly that because a forum member writes a trip report on their blog, it won't be listed in the trip reports section?

That is the question which remains unanswered.Reddog1 wrote:
Why would you understand that? How did you come to the conclusion they would not be listed in the trip reports section?

When I looked through the Trip Reports section, I noticed there are no reports listed for The TClife yet he has posted many trip reports. I also noticed I have several RV.NET trip reports listed but nothing from my blog trip reports of which several were also posted here.
The exception being 1 from me and 1 from TC in the Rally section.
So yeah, it looks like trip reports sourced from a blog do not get listed in the trip reports section. That brings back the question why not?Reddog1 wrote:
I am in agreement that I would appreciate trip reports better if they were posted on the Forum, not linked to a blog.

You being an employee of the forum, I appreciate and would expect that answer. Of course you would like to see reports via the forum. However, whether the report is created on RV.NET or a blog, it is still content and the conversational exchange about the post nearly always takes place on the forum adding to the forum content not the blog so the forum is the winner. It gets needed content and traffic resulting from that content not to mention continued interest for more content.Reddog1 wrote:
Have you ever read the the "Rallies, Shows and Gatherings" Forum?

Yes, I have glanced at it but not much activity there.
Truck camper people seem pretty much only interested in Truck camper activity.
It's really a matter of knowing if you put time into a post, will it be shared as much if it's from a blog. By shared with the forum I mean will it be listed in the trip report section like a trip report created here on the forum?
After looking through the TR section I'd say no, a trip report will not be available for future reference unless it is created on RV.NET.
Do you agree or disagree with that assessment?

Camper_Jeff_&_Kelli, you are reading too much into my post. Based on your first question, I see no reason to discuss this with you.

Wayne,
I would have been happy enough if your reply was simply, "Camper_Jeff_&_Kelli, you are reading too much into my post."
But then you had to add "Based on your first question, I see no reason to discuss this with you."
The question came about due to your earlier reply to another reply.
So, what is the proper way to ask a question to get a non arrogant response?
My question is simple and I think you should state what the RV.NET policy is for the record on blogs regarding posts being placed in the TR, TCU, or other various sticky sections.
I am not the only person that would appreciate an answer.
Just asking for some clarification. - clikrf8ExplorerVery enjoyable TR and I just loved the dachshund parade. Your 4 are adorable and I like how you have a camping set up just for them. Although your trips are short, you sure pack a lot of sightseeing and adventuring.
I have a forthcoming TR that I also post as a link to my blog but I guess they are no longer welcome in that format? Nothing can top Whazoo's TRs and yes, it is more convenient to view a TR on here but I post a link to my TRs on several other Forums plus I have some followers.
Unless, I hear differently, I will no longer post a link to my TR blog on this forum.
Thanks again, I really enjoy your adventures. - billyray50ExplorerNice trip report TC life. Always enjoy your trip reports. Window sticker is hilarious!

Good point Francesca Knowles. I would enjoy it better also. It could also be appreciated in the "Rallies, Shows and Gatherings" Forum.

Do I understand that correctly that because a forum member writes a trip report on their blog, it won't be listed in the trip reports section? I will have to check say for instance, Mello Mikes postings to see if his fine work is included in the Trip Report or TC University sections.
It makes total sense to do your trip report on a blog if you participate in several forums or Facebook, etc... and you want to share your blog in those multiple places.
Using this page as the source for the trip report, why would it not be shown on the "Rallies, Shows and Gatherings" Forums if that is the case? Everybody who writes trip reports, knows how much time it takes to put a decent report together and if using a blog saves the poster time to be able to share with more venues, so be it, we are all winners.
Do let us know if a blog post is not included in the TR or TCU sections. If that's the rule, people will adjust as they see fit, continuing to blog or post directly here.
Thanks - the_tc_lifeExplorer
