- JumboJetExplorerWhat engine are you putting in that beast?
- recyclerExplorerwell I finally got time from helping my brother start his company to work on my truck...i removed the remains of it's life as a dump truck from the frame yesterday..
now to get the engine swapped in and mount a box, build the storage bed in between box and cab.. - recyclerExplorerbeen rereading the posts on here and had some ideas.. kohldad your idea of hinged sides made me think hinge the bottom of the pick up bed and mount sliding trays for gen set and tool boxes... the crew cab would be an idea, but i got this truck because it is a standard cab..a crew cab would tend to get used as an auction taxi around here.. also keep in mind this will also be my daily driver once completed..
and again thanks for the ideas.. - RaftenExplorer"thank you for giving me another reason to tell my wife why i want to stay out of that state"
Good idea, too many people here already. - BrandonRExplorer

I'm with this, a crew cab would be a nice upgrade if you could swing it. - Reddog1Explorer II

Silly you, "they" make the rules.

- notevenExplorer IIIYou could always get a vehicle wrap place to make you a wrap that looks like a Ford pickup box ... ;)....

whoops .... ow! ... fell off my soap box... - recyclerExplorerhave a few ideas for the truck even thought about a 14ft pick u bed.. i would love to put a flat bed on it would make it so much easier to haul hay with..the law says it's not commercial if it has "stylized bed" on it, but they are vague about what that means have been thinking a big utility style hauler body so i can carry spares and tools..with a gvw up to 19,500 the possiblities are endless..i will take lots of pics when i get started..hopefully soon :(
thanks for the ideas..

the tc life, I doubt they would bother you if you have out of state plates. My suggestion would be to simply ignore stopping at the scales. My bet is that most people in California with a flatbed and a TC do not even know the law exist.
Be careful what you wish for. Most states eventually follow California's led, good, bad, or indifferent.
