When our boys were younger and we did a lot of long distance travel camping I was just as happy to have a non-slide trailer as it was just one less thing that could go wrong while traveling a long way from home. Our current trailer is the first we've owned of many that has a slide and particularly because this is a short 19' couple's model even the shallow sofa slide really opens up the interior. I've not had any issues with it in 4 years but every time I hit the slide switch I do wonder whether this will be the one time it doesn't work, for whatever reason. Not a big deal if you're close to home but thousands of miles away could prove to be a real PITA. All this said, I'd never own any trailer in which the slide(s) blocked interior access in any way.
