- GoinThisAwayExplorerAnother good guess Cal but anutami has it right. The statue stands in Council Grove, KS. It's called the Guardian of the Grove and represents a Kanza warrior. Plaques at the base explain some of the statue's symbology and says the tribe is known as the "wind people". That certainly makes sense for Kansas!
And Council Grove itself is a neat town with a lot of history including some regal buildings and the Santa Fe trail. If you go there I heartily recommend a meal at the 1857 Hays House.
Now, anutami, it's your turn! - cewillisExplorerWichita -- a guess only because I can't imagine where that name could have come from. (also, I grew up in N. Kansas City, Mo -- so might have an unfair advantage)

Wow, pnichols, that was quite a trip you made! There were two cruise ships anchored in the harbor the day we visited and I remember it was cold and windy up on the mountain. At 1500 +/- feet I doubt that westerners would consider Cadillac Mountain much more than a hill but it's the highest point on the Atlantic coast of the U.S.
Now my turn. In what city and state would one find the statue below?
Hint: The name of the statue refers to the city in which it stands and it is a tribute to the tribe after which the state was named.
