Armada also is shorter and has less passenger space than his current Suburban. It's another half ton with 1300-1500 pounds of payload. If 1000 pounds (or more) is receiver TW, do the 8 people and enough activities to occupy their travel time weigh 300-500 pounds?
Back to the OP. Spend $15 at a CAT scale with your current setup to understand all your weights and what areas need to be upgraded. Power/gearing is easy to fix and there are plenty of options to improve performance in newer vehicles. I expect any half ton including the current Suburban to be at least 500 pounds over rear axle and GVWR towing that TT with family onboard.
