We picked up our new old TC today. On the way home, DW pipes up "I scared" It does sway some.Truck is a '08 Dodge 3500 LWB Quad cab, SRW. Tires, factory,LT265/70x17 BFG.I didn't check the tire pressures, I was just coming home with it.TC is an '98, 8' 10" Adventurer 810WS , the '02 lists about 1900# and it was both dry(empty tanks) and empty.Dodge when they used the wide stance ridgid boxed frame, they figured they didn't need a anti-sway bar on the back. For the truck, no, for a camper, yes.What brands are recommended. And where are the best deals.

We put on a Helwig Bigwig.Sway BarAlso Torklift Stable Loads to fill any gap between the rear bump stop and the top of the helper spring.Stable LoadsBoth modifications helped, when cornering with the added swaybar the truck does not lean, with the stable loads it will not squat as much and also the rocking from side to side is greatly improved.Hopefully you are close to the border and can make a trip to purchase from down there as prices here are crazy for this stuff...Both are quite easy to install, few simple tools and some ranting.You might want to fill it with all your stuff, plus water, propane etc, weigh the whole outfit and check your tire load ratings, if you aregood with the weight on the BFG's the above mods will give you a really good ride. Our camper is about the same size on our Dodge 3500.Empty ride will be harsh on bumps, when camper is off for a long time I take out the Stable loads, this will eliminate the helpers..

Hellwig Big Wig or Roadmaster sway bars would be at top of my list.

What kind of tie downs? Is any of the sway from them?Check your tires for air pressure.Trac bar at Henderson Lineup. These people have been around RVs for many years. You may call them for good advise.Trac Bar

I agree with getting sway bar and Stable loads but the 1st thing is to be sure the tires are fully inflated.Congratulations on your new old camper.

Definitely add the sway bar (silly Dodge for not offering one from the factory.) You may also want to consider upgrading away from factory shocks too. I have the same truck as you and added home made top and bottom "stable loads" to engage the spring packs sooner and more consistently. With a well stocked TC these suspension improvements make my truck ride level with excellent handling.
