I totally agree with this advice. Get the basics attended to first starting with knowing what your truck already has from the factory i.e. tow and/or camper package, spring ratings etc. and ensure your truck is in very good mechanical condition.
You'll need at least "E" load rated tires, a good tie down system (I use TorkLift with Fast Guns) and a hitch receiver and brake controller set up for your boat. You can go custom or prefabricated here.
Like mkirsch states, other accessories/mods can be added/made as needed to address actual issues you are experiencing once you're rolling.
