The dual cam is a fantastic hitch. By all means use it!!!! I towed a 34' TT for 10 years with mine and never once had any sway!.

Oh man, that is a bad deal. Are you a veteran? Maybe there is some kind of legal assistance provided through the VA? If not, there might be a law firm in your area that's willing to do pro bono work. I believe some of the larger (but not all) law firms try to perform some amount of pro bono work each year. I don't know if that's for tax write-off reasons or what, but you might call around and see if you can at least talk to a lawyer for free and determine if you have a sound case to pursue.
