After belonging to RV.net for several years now and reading hundreds and hundreds to posts about all types of campers, in my opinion, based upon all the various comments, Jayco is about as good as any other. They all have problems sometimes, and sometimes problems are caused by owners. Sometimes folks attempt to do things with their campers, which they are not designed to do and they end up voiding warranties, tearing something up, or simply overextend something that breaks. No fault of the camper there.
I always said, if a chair is designed to sit a 100 pound person, and 1000 pound person sits on it and it breaks, you can't blame the chair! It wasn't designed for 1000 pounds!
Same is true for any camper. Attempt to put an elephant in the door of most campers, and I don't think you're going to make it. Does that make the camper bad or a manufacturer defect? No. So it is with most Jaycos. (any brand for that matter). Use them for the purpose they are designed ("RECREATION"), take care of them and don't let them go down hill (service, cleanliness, and anything that be showing signs of age or stress ... fix it immediately), and Jayco's are a good bread. Lots of folks have them... LOTS! There must be something "good" about them!
Can't answer about the second question about Loanstar RV. I advise check the Better Business Bureau and do some Internet searches on "Loanstar RV complaints" ... and see what comes up.
