Hi, we need info on having mail forwarded.we will be traveling througnout the u.s. and our home will be rented, so how do we get our mail without getting our renters mail too? Banking too. Wnich banks are nationwide?? Thanks

You could change your address to a family member and then have them send any mail you may need. You can do all your banking through the internet. With debit cards now people don't carry much cash. All your reg bills can be set up to be paid through online banking. Any income to you can be made direct deposit. You can also transfer money from one bank to another through e-transfer ( email) We visit our branch once or twice a year now, only for any major changes in accounts or investments. Everything else can be done online or through fax.

There is no one bank that has branches nationwide.That is why we use on line banking........we can do everything via on line. Haven't been in or done business with a actual bank in a building. And there are ATM's just about everywhere.Credit Uions are also an option.Mail forwarding......very easy for a full timer. We use one in our 'domicile state' of SD. Americas Mailbox...by Rapid City. Alternative Resources...Sioux Falls. Others in SD and TX & FL have several mail forwarding services.I think they all do a good job as that is what they are in business for. Haven't heard/read of any real problems.As a extended traveler......check out UPS for mail forwarding.Either way you have to change ALL mail to that address and then schedule the forwarding of your mail to locations ahead. Sometimes that might require having mail sent via 'General Delivery' to a local Post Office that accepts General Delivery (not all do).

Chase and Bank America are fairly nationwide but not in all areas of the U.S.But Check out Ally bank for your needs. They have no branches at all but with minor restrictions you are free to use any bank ATM with no charges at all either from the ATM or the bank. You deposit checks by taking a picture of them on your cell phone.If we need money on the road we usually do a little shopping at Walmart and get cash back. ALly bank reps are available almost 24 - 7 - 365

American Home Base in Pensacola Florida forwards my mail. We have actually stopped at their location while passing through. Courteous, helpful, very inexpensive.As for banking. We have been with Wells Fargo for over 30 years and do most of our banking online. Very simple to do. We pay our bills online. Using a Credit Card with rewards for almost everything we have protection and don't carry much cash. Pay our phone bills and Direct TV bill automatically via the Visa Card. Once a month we pay the Visa with a simple transfer. Set up alerts for your accounts so any changes you are immediately notified of.

You coordinate with the mail forwarding company. Upon your instructions, they bundle up your mail and 'forward' it to you. Your mail may be sent to general delivery at a local post office or possibly the campground you are at if they allow this. I suggest that you take a look at one of the websites such as St Brendan's Isle or Escapees as it will answer all your questions about how it works.

Note that there are several companies that provide this type of service and they can have different types of choices (some allow you to read your mail over the internet, etc).

The new address also drives which state you pay taxes to (or not). Banks will need the new address. Credit Card companies. The IRS. Etc.

If you are going FT then you will need to have a physical address (mail forwarding service) then you can get drivers licenses, vehicles registered, register to vote, get insurance etc. using your 'domicile state' and the new address that you establish with the mail forwarding service.

Uncle Sam wants to know where you 'live' and prove it.....the physical address is just one of the steps.

My standard answer is...don't rely on bills or any time-sensitive mail to reach you. Always pay all bills possible online.

ATMs are nationwide, and so is Walmart.

We use a local credit union with this site you can access banks in the zipcode where you are and take out or deposit checks
cuswirl.com. Talk to credit union you will need a cif ( member )
number and a acct number works great

That's what I've been doing for years. Works well.

My credit union is part of a network called CU Centers. I can access my account at credit unions all over the country.
