I did quite a bit of shopping before I selected the Tundra. In my neck of the woods the Tundra was $7000 cheaper than the GMC 1500 (my first choice, actually). There was even a larger price difference for a GMC 2500. My husband's truck is a GMC 2500 long box 2wd but that one is strictly for farm use (we have a dairy farm). Yes, indeed, had I the money I would have bought a GMC or Chevy 2500 extended cab short box. Now that I have the Tundra, I am enjoying the drive. It seems a lot "handier" than the more cumbersome big trucks that I have driven over the years. So no...I will stick with my Tundra and find something that it can carry with upgraded tires (they are presently "p" tires) and maybe air bags. But I also like to keep life, and camping, simple.
