When we were looking at myself doing major repairs to our Colemen Mesa, about 5K worth, our choice was to get rid of the pup and get a Trailmanor. A lot more spent then the repairs of course but we ended up with a better interior layout plus a hard sided folding camper.
We sold the pup for 1k.
