Unfortunately twodownzero, to consult someone who can put numbers to your analysis with real knowledge on the subject is looking for a needle in a haystack. I am also of the belief, that in marketing the focus is on selling more product, not educating the end user. That is why I think terms like "best in its class" are used.
I think I am fortunate in that I am not as sensitive to the effects of shocks as many people are. While I do like my air controlled Rancho's, I probably would be just as happy with something else. I definitely can tell the difference with the TC loaded or not, if the shocks are at the same setting in the rear. The weight difference (empty/loaded) is not as great on the front axle. I cannot tell the difference between 2 or 3 marks on the control valve, but can tell between 3 and 6 marks.
I do not think shocks have much to do with sway. They effect it some, but that is the function of the anti-sway bar in my opinion. I think shock absorber is pretty self explanatory. My experience is they do effect the purposing effect.
