Looking over Goodyear's site, I see many detailed warnings about the negative effects of underinflation. Excessive wear, tire damage, and possible failure are cited. Not one word of caution related to overinflation at less than max load and pressure. All they say is to not exceed the max pressure indicated on the sidewall.
