Need plumbing help..

Help please! Boy,do I have a problem in my '02 Sunline2363..hope I can fix this!! Installed the new kitchen faucet w neighbor's help. When he connected the water hoses to the faucet connection, turned on supply...and Whooooosh! Water poured and sprayed from the cold water line where it connects to the faucet under the counter. I have been to all the BB stores..then to plumbing supply--they tell me the chewed up washer probably can't be replaced...would have to replace the whole line!!Is this correct? Seems impossible to go back to the source wherever it is..rip stuff out because of a washer? I am counting on you for help and encouragement!! Janalee..

  • Ah, the forum police were at it again. Thanks to you for keeping sure we don't have double posters. Jeez!
  • Hello xxjanaleexx,

I just tried to sanitize my water system this weekend and found out the hard way that the bathroom sink PEX line has an issue. Luckily I caught it after just a few minutes. Would you mind sharing the video or other forum where you found help?

Tks, Much and Happy Camping to you and yours.
  • Yes I did ...he is an excellent one to go to for help...but as I was traveling from place to place looking for help, exhausted and in pain, I posted in both forums at the same time not knowing who would be viewing first. Now, since this seems to have tickled your funny spot, I will read the poster on this forum who was polite enough to send me a video on how to do it and then say goodby...FYI- I am 73,handicapped,w DH w dementia..thought I was among friends here. However,I am so glad I have brought a smile to both of you..I will stick with my other forum and sure hope you are not a member there!

  • Is it PEX, or a threaded connection to the bottom of the faucet. Have no worries, we'll get ya fixed up. If you are able to post a picture that would help. If you didn't buy a Moen, I highly suggest one. We have a lifetime warranty on all residental product and world class customer service!
  • I hate to say it, but the best way to replace a faucet is to pull the sink. Then you can really take a look at that connection. They are mostly plastic parts, and it's easy to get it just slightly wrong which makes a big mess. It's hard to work under there with the sink in place. I would start with pulling the sink and really looking at what you have. Good luck.
