OEM you have to buy the whole line all the way back to the filter for $150. It's steel up to the firewall and then transitions to the same nylon line with quick connector that you buy from the aftermarket. The o-ring in the quick connect that goes to the fuel rail fails requiring a new fitting. Does GM source their 3/8" nylon fuel line differently from NAPA or Dorman?
Yes I have advised her of the dangers. FWIW, roadside assistance (not Good Sam, brand X) would not come and tow the car...they told her to call 911 first and have the fire department come out and clear the car, and then have the FD call roadside assistance back and tell them the car is safe to tow. Since there was no fuel leaking without the fuel pump energized, I told her to lock it up, get a ride with her friends, and call the garage to tow it in the morning.
Yes engine compartment fuel leaks are no joke.
