Need suggestions for camping close to North Carolina shore

Would like Suggestions: We are heading home and would like to camp along the NC shore. We watched the sun go down over the Pacific ocean and thought it would be nice to watch it rise over the Atlantic...

If you are going to cape lookout be well prepared for beach driving. It is the best of the best. Not crowded no electricity some water ( drinking) great fishing, great location and the best views BUT be prepared air down, 4X4, reserve a spot on ferry @Davis, all the precautions for beach driving. Back road easiest to get back and forth along beach
