Well Niner, you are now the Bogeyman. You just can't post anything on this site other than sunshine and buttercups about the "amazing unbelievable 6000+#, 240hp truck." Nothing beats it, didn't ya know?
You captured the most important word in those quotes "unbelievable"
Pretty much says it all, if my BS meter is reading correctly... it was recently calibrated.
My Touaregs have 10 year 100,000 mile power train warranties. They have 8 year 80000 mile emissions warranties. In the even it fails, I go have an emissions check done for $50, and I hand the results to VW if still under warranty. If VW balks, I'll get the EPA involved if need be. Probably tell them if what VW says is not emissions related and not a CARB or EPA requirement, I'm ripping it out, and the EPA shouldn't care or complain about my actions, as it's not "Emissions related"
It is my belief, having owned and operated Bosch fuel injection systems for diesels in various VW and Audi diesels since 1981, that how kind or abusive, smooth or harsh you are on your equipment affects it's service life. I make sure my diesel fuel meets Bosch's fuel lubricity requirements, which exceed ASTM D975 standards.
I drive and apply the fuel in a smooth, non aggressive manner in my TDI's, all the time. I accept the risks that come with a Bosch HPFP failure. If it goes, it goes, that's what warranties and insurance are for.
If mine goes, it goes. That's life.
