They are showing the new truck at the Texas state fair and Pickup Truck magazine has 4 articles on the new trucks: Intro Design Powertrain Towing Looks like a big change.

I had really expected the new transmission in the 2017, given that the "rumor" was it might be a late 2016 intro.
There is a new trans but for the 250 only. I'm thinking putting that many gears in a truck with higher ratings was cause for failure concern. I think they are out of transmission real estate and making a HD truck with thinner gears to fit the case is less than ideal.
