They are showing the new truck at the Texas state fair and Pickup Truck magazine has 4 articles on the new trucks: Intro Design Powertrain Towing Looks like a big change.

Yes they need to pass emissions. They don't have to pass a fuel economy standard but that will soon change.
D'uh... brain fart. I mixed up emissions and fuel economy testing. My bad. They are still keeping the 6.2 liter though, that's good. I thought I had heard somewhere that they were ending production, hence my curiosity. Guess I was wrong about that too...
No big deal....There's been a lot of rumors and speculation about the gas power plants in the new Super Duty. I personally didn't believe the Eco Boost rumors, but thought the 6.2 might get 4 valves/cylinder heads and get a hp bump in the process.
