Don't think you will do well out west going over the mountains or against a head wind. Your truck is too small for that terrain. On flat ground might be OK.. Braking down a mountain grade ?? Pulling it up one is a whole nother story.

thank you for posting that. Been having problems with the Expy for a few weeks. Had no "balls" anymore. Got it fixed about a week ago, and now pulls my trailer amazingly!

We pull a 2017 Grand Design Imagine 2800BH with a 2013 Expedition EL with the 5.4 V8. The dry weight on ours is 6204 lbs. We've been able to tow into the smokey mountains of NC with a family of 4 and 2 dogs and its been fine so you shouldn't have any problems. It's not a race so I usually stay around 60MPH and slow down to 55MPH when tractor trailers or box trucks pass. Slowing to 55MPH prevents the push and pull feel when they pass.

I looked at the Launch 27BHU and it's dry weight is ~6500 lbs so what model did you buy? I was going to say that price is very good if it were that floorplan in a Launch as I would expect a paying price of around $26K with a MSRP of about $37K.

Seems like a really heavy trailer for an Expedition. I pulled a 6000 lb dry camper with an Expedition once. You'll likely be nearing your vehicle max once you add your camping gear and water. Mine was ok until I got into wind or mountains.

The price seems ok after doing a few searches.

What were differences between Launch Outfitter and Launch Ultra Lite? I ask as I am looking at similar floorplans from Jayco (Jayflight 28BHBE).

Is the bed a Hide A Bed or simple Jack knife style? Hide A Bed not listed as an option.

The load index of my tires are a 118, which is good for 2910lbs. Kinda low I know. Will see how it feels. I sometimes tow a enclosed 24' car trailer with my father inlaws 57' Chevy in it, and that weighs about 6000 to 6500 total so should be ok... If not, I will be getting some LT rated tires.

Dont plan on Boondocking!
