new 2500hd

We have a 2014 Silverado HD 6.0. We pull a 2015 Prime Time Tracer 3200BHT. I went with a 3.73 rear end thinking that this was going to be an everyday vehicle maybe the fuel economy would be better. Wrong! I wished that I stuck with the 4.10 r/e. The new TT was purchased late last year so other than one short trip I have no comparison to the 2009 Wildwood 29ft TT we traded. The Silverado pulled that fine. The dry weight on the new Prime Time and the Wildwood is almost identical--7500lbs dry.

Nice.... U will really enjoy this truck for all the right reasons. I have an 09 with only 71k on it and have no complaints, very capable drive train.

I'm amused to see so many people buying 1/2 ton trucks, think that they can do much work with them. Most 1/2 ton trucks are sprung like an old Crown Victoria.

Very few trucks on dealer lots have the maximum tow package which costs approximately $1,795 on a Ford. They're usually special ordered.

I have a 3/4 ton diesel, and wouldn't take anything for it. But I know my Pin weight is limited for a fifth wheel. I had to buy a fifth wheel to fit my truck--as my truck is too good to trade--and it's paid for.

Congrats. Those new Chevy's really cleaned up the hood area. Think I like em better than the GMC's now.

I have been very satisfied with my 6.0, six speed. The 2500HD payload is also a big plus. I never think twice about bringing firewood, big tool box, extra water, etc. Safe travels and enjoy your new truck!

Exactly.
It's so easy to forget all the people and stuff that you want to haul in the truck when you're towing that trailer.
Payload and the truck's GAWR are what it's all about.
