New 8k BTU Coleman Polar Cub

Anyone running this new AC and realize how noisy it is. The condenser fan seems a 1/4 of the size of the 9k BTU. Not sure if there is a break in period but it is a lot louder compared to the polar cub 9k BTU I had previously.

Here is a lik to the video I made

  • When I had mine installed at Camping World and they fired it up, holy cow, I couldn't believe how loud it was! BUT, it was still in the shop and the metal roof was not to far above it so it bounced the sound back down.

But before that realization, I was about to tell them to take it off. That is was the loudest AC unit I had ever heard! So they called Coleman and they said the increased volume is caused by the fan pointing straight up as opposed to the squirrel fan that is in most others.

Upon pulling the unit out of their garage, it sounded much like yours did the the video, very acceptable and very quite inside.

I can live with that, and the fact you can run with the Honda 2000.

    Cheers!

Its nice and quiet and cool I love it. I am concerned what the guy camping next to me will say. I once had a fellow camper complain about my heater fan cycling on and off all night. They asked the next morning why I ran my generator all night :0
