Congratulations on the 89RB. I just bought a used 2013 in July. We LOVE it when its just the two of us and we're boondocking or hopping around on travels. For longer stays we use the TT.
Yes, we have the skylight with the shade. I really like the natural light coming in during the day. Helps brighten the inside. The shade, as previously mentioned, really makes a big difference.
Yes, we have the generator. Only used it once in the middle of the desert as a portable restaurant. We had the dog and couldn't go into the restaurant so we pulled into the parking lot, fired up the Onan and the A/C and had a nice place to enjoy the dinner.
Yes, we like the comfort step. You can remove it if you'd like for towing. A bit of a pain, but can make a significant difference. Have not tried it yet but took a look at it and it appears that there are not that many bolts to remove/replace.
All in all, we really enjoy it.
